PLUS: Flux 2 beats nano banana pro | L8R by Innov8

“Bro, ChatGPT got hacked!”
Did it though? 👀
Turns out the truth is less scary… and somehow even more confusing.
A partner company got hacked.
Old models spilled tiny bits of memory.
Hackers found new prompt tricks.
And the internet? It just mixed everything together🍛
So what really happened?
Who’s responsible?
And should we start deleting our browser history or chill?
While this chaos is happening…
Anthropic is being called to Congress over an AI-run cyberattack,
Google and Amazon want to become your personal AI shopping buddy,
And Flux vs Nano Banana Pro is the new image-model fight nobody expected.
Lots to unpack today.
I’m Alex, Welcome to L8R by Innov8.
Let’s DIVE DEEP 🧠👇

Flux 2 vs Nano Banana Pro: New Image AI Showdown
🧠 Was ChatGPT Really Hacked?

People online shouted “ChatGPT got hacked!” But the truth is simpler.
A partner company that tracked some user data was hacked.
ChatGPT itself was not broken into but the incident still shows how fragile our data can be.
🔍 Key Points:
A company called Mixpanel, which did analytics for OpenAI, had a security breach.
The attacker saw some metadata like names, emails, rough location, device type and referral website.
No chat history, passwords, API keys or payment details were exposed.
Because of this, people on social media said “ChatGPT was hacked,” which is not correct.
OpenAI stopped using Mixpanel, told affected users and started checking all its vendors.
📰 What’s New?
Security researchers also showed that older versions of ChatGPT could sometimes “remember” and spit out small pieces of its training data (like email signatures, bits of code or poem lines) when pushed with special repeated prompts. They also found “prompt-injection” tricks that can make AI follow hidden instructions from web pages.
🚨 Why It Matters
Even “small” data like emails and device info can be used for phishing and scams.
If AI models memorize training data, private or copyrighted content might leak back out.
Prompt-injection shows that AI agents that browse the web can be tricked more easily.
Rumours travel faster than facts, so companies must explain incidents clearly and fast.
⏭️ What’s Next?
OpenAI is reviewing all third-party vendors and telling users to use strong security (like 2FA).
Researchers will keep testing ChatGPT and other models for data leaks and prompt-injection bugs.
Bug-bounty programs and red-team testing will become a normal part of AI safety.

🥷ChatGPT Enters the Shopping Battle

ChatGPT is no longer just answering questions.
It can now help you research what to buy, compare products and even check out directly inside the chat
🔍 Key Points:
OpenAI launched a shopping assistant inside ChatGPT that helps you pick the right product.
It asks follow-up questions, compares options and shows where it got its info.
A new “Instant Checkout” feature lets you buy certain items inside ChatGPT using Stripe.
Google uses Gemini in Search to give AI shopping summaries with prices, reviews and stock info.
Amazon’s “Buy For Me” agent can buy things for you from other brands’ websites using your saved Amazon details.
📰 What’s New?
OpenAI says its shopping results are not sponsored and do not change based on who pays.
Google ties AI shopping to its huge Shopping Graph and Google Pay.
Amazon tries to keep you inside its ecosystem, even when you buy from other sites.
🚨 Why It Matters
AI can now do the boring parts of shopping: searching, comparing, reading reviews and filling forms.
Neutral recommendations could change how brands fight for visibility online.
How these tools handle your payment data and purchase history will be very important for trust.
“AI Engine Optimization” (AEO) will start to matter as much as SEO, since AI agents shape what users see.
⏭️ What’s Next?
More brands will plug into these AI shopping systems.
Regulators may ask for clear labels when a recommendation is sponsored vs neutral.
Expect smarter features like price-drop alerts, bundle suggestions and return-help handled by AI.

🧠 Flux 2 vs Nano Banana Pro: New Image AI Showdown

Two strong image models are fighting.
Black Forest Labs’ Flux 2 focuses on high-quality, low-cost images with an open-core approach.
Google’s Nano Banana Pro aims at rich features, real-time facts and deep editing inside Google products.
🔍 Key Points:
Flux 2 makes up to 4-megapixel images, handles many reference images and has better text in pictures.
It follows an “open-core” model: some parts (like the VAE) are open-source, others are paid.
Its cost per image is low, which is great for people who generate tons of images.
Nano Banana Pro makes 2K and 4K images and can keep many characters and objects consistent.
It connects to Google Search, so it can create charts, maps and visuals based on real-time data.
📰 What’s New?
Flux 2 comes in several flavours: Pro and Flex via API, Dev as an open-weight model with a license, and a smaller Klein version promised for local use.
Nano Banana Pro is deeply built into Google tools like the Gemini app, Ads, Slides, Vids, AI Studio and Vertex AI.
🚨 Why It Matters
Designers, marketers and creators now have cheaper and more powerful tools to make images at scale.
Open vs closed ecosystems will shape where developers build their apps and workflows.
Watermarking and transparency (like SynthID in Google images) matter for spotting AI-made content.
⏭️ What’s Next?
Flux 2 Klein should let more people run strong image models on normal GPUs at home or in small studios.
Google will likely push more editing features (charts, text fixes, brand-safe templates) for business users.
Both sides will try to improve text quality in images, reduce weird artifacts and cut down on hallucinated details.
🚨 Quick L8R Summary
ChatGPT “hack” panic explained: A partner company (Mixpanel) got breached not ChatGPT itself. No chats or payment data leaked, but the scare shows how easily rumours spread.
AI joins the shopping war: ChatGPT can now research products and check out inside the app. Google and Amazon fired back with their own AI shopping agents.
New image-model showdown:
Flux 2 vs Google’s Nano Banana Pro two powerful image AIs fighting for creators, each with different strengths, prices and ecosystems.
